Effortlessly chic Cali vibes ahead with this greenery filled villa wedding from Holly Sigafoos Photo! Their oceanside ceremony and courtyard reception are everything we love about outdoor weddings!
Our wedding theme and style I really wanted to be simple and organic. When I first came across Casa Romantica I knew that this was the venue. No other venue could compare and walking into this space you are filled with such beauty alone. The Spanish tiles and ocean views with beautiful florals throughout the venue and historic vintage feel—I instantly fell in love. One of my favorite things about this venue is how breathtaking it is just as is. I wanted our wedding to flow off of this feeling in a simple way because the cultural center itself is so unique. I wanted the ocean view to be our main focus on this day and utilize a lot of neutrals, greens and whites to pull the venue together. Both Sean and I are very laid back and simplistic, so picking out details for this I wanted it to feel the same way and be simple yet stunning.
I was so unbelievably impressed with the bridal studio I went with in Carlsbad, Ca. Archive bridal has the best selection of stunning wedding dresses. This was the first studio I went to and I remember them saying that I would find my dream dress here. I actually went to 5 or so other studios and ended up coming back here because they were right. I knew in my heart this dress was my wedding dress. I ended up with an “Essence of Australia” brand wedding dress and it was truly my dream dress. It was a fit and flare style with sheer cut outs on the size and a “V-shape” cut in front with small straps. There wasn’t a thing I would change about my dress. The detail and long train with the long veil paired gave me the dramatic effect I wanted with just simply elegance as well. I included my moms lace from her wedding dress on the front layer of my wedding dress. My dress had 6 layers and they were able to remove a layer and add in lace from my moms in the front. This was so memorable because a piece of her was close with me the whole day. We also used her lace around my wedding flower bouquet and my garter was custom made with her lace as well.
The most important things to us on our wedding day was keeping the focus on us. We felt like a lot of weddings can get lost in extravagant decor and we really wanted simple yet stunning components in our wedding to highlight the venue but, emphasize the focus on us. We went back and forth about having an “arch” in our ceremony overlooking the ocean and actually decided not to which so many guests loved too because they felt with that ocean view and just us two standing there—it painted a beautiful moment with attention on us and that gorgeous view. I remember when we first saw this venue too it took our breathe away. The ocean views and vintage Spanish feels we wanted this to be our focus. We wanted the decor to mimic this and add value to the venue but, really create a spacer what was centered around us.
