You will love this simple and sweet New Hampshire lakeside wedding from Lynne Reznick Photography! With flowers picked right from the bride’s parent’s garden, this wedding is filled with sentimental details and love.
Anne had a vision of simplicity and elegance, one that became a reality with the help of her family and friends. We used our favorite colors which accented each other well, and her favorite flower which was in bloom PERFECTLY, just for our wedding. Grace Church was Anne’s church growing up and the “mother church” for our current church. It carried many memories and gave a comfort and familiar safety to our day. Camp Spofford was somewhere we had both worked at different points in our lives, somewhere with fond memories for us both and a beautiful setting that fit our vision.
As two Christians seeking to put our faith first in all things, including our marriage, we planned a ceremony that reflected that. I remember saying “when the guests leave I want the first thing they say when they get in the car is ‘wow, Anne and Asher love Jesus.’” It was very important to us that we gave credit to God who made us who we are and brought us together, as well as expressing the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who attended.
For our flowers we chose lilacs- Anne’s favorite flower- and were able to get most of them from bushes on Anne’s parents’ property. We were grateful that they bloomed late this year- perfectly in time for the wedding! They were cut and arranged by Emma Sanctuary, one of the maids of honor who works as a florist at The Village Blooms, where we sourced the remainder of our flowers. In keeping with our alternative, gospel-centered theme, we elected to forgo traditional favors and instead substituted it with a selection of benevolent giving opportunities in which our guests would deposit a wooden heart chip from each table to a basket assigned to its respective charitable organization. We chose five organizations that impacted our lives.
With neither of us being fanatics for the traditional wedding cake, we went with a contemporary cheesecake selection (masterfully crafted by Kierra Speed, one of the bridesmaids), with gluten free options of fruit and cheeses.
