Romantic Neutral Wedding

With soft neutral hues and an abundance of sweet handmade details, today’s Georgia wedding captured by Rustic White Photography is too lovely to miss! What makes this wedding even cuter though is the couple, Bailee and Bailey. With the same name, they gave out Bailey’s Irish Creme as favors for a bit of fun and to make their wedding uniquely them!

We wanted our wedding to feel timeless and romantic, but also light and comfortable. The majority of our guests were traveling from out of town so it was important to us that even though our guests were coming to a big city like Atlanta, our wedding still felt relaxed and intimate.

I knew I wanted an all lace dress that felt timeless. When I tried on a few Rebecca Schoneveld dresses at the Sentimentalist, I knew almost immediately that was how I wanted to feel on my wedding day. The lace was incredibly soft and light, and the floral pattern and eyelash detail made it feel more modern than your classic lace dress. The pointed train was another untraditional element of surprise that I loved, and the custom, off-the-shoulder bolero rounded out the timeless look I wanted. The morning of my wedding, my mom gifted me with my grandmother’s wedding band. She and my grandfather had been married 49 years, and the band was worn down on one side where it had rubbed against her other ring so much. I also had a beautiful gold angel broach that I pinned to my bouquet. It was really special to be able to walk down the aisle with a piece of my grandparents with me.

Summerour was the perfect venue for us to make our guests feel this – we knew as soon as we saw it. It was one venue which would make things easier for our guests (as we would not wish for anyone to drive aimlessly through Atlanta traffic), and it had a gorgeous Tuscan villa style courtyard wrapped in Ivy – which had a special meaning since Ivey would be my new last name! The inside of the venue was lined with windows with a view of the skyline, had gorgeous hardwood floors, cafe lights, and farm tables. It was a pretty stunning blank canvas, right in the heart of Atlanta.

One of my favorite moments was after the ceremony when my groom and I were having a private moment with hors-d’oeuvres on the balcony inside Summerour Studio. With our guests in the courtyard outside, below us, it was the first time we could really see all of our guests that were there. With friends and family from all over, we just watched and reveled in the excitement of having all of our people together in one place with us.

I have an amazingly talented mother in law that made all of the finishing touches for our wedding. We had a custom watercolor map in our welcome bags that showed all of our favorite places in Atlanta, including where we got engaged and where the ceremony and reception would be. We also had watercolor and gold calligraphy escort cards and table numbers that had hand deckled edges, and several beautifully painted chalkboard signs.

Our florals are what made everything feel romantic. The bouquets and bouts were all white blooms with whimsical greenery that made them feel more relaxed and less formal. The table arrangements were a mix of medium arrangements and assorted bud vases, with mostly white blooms, greenery, and a touch of blush blooms. Our florist did an amazing job at making everything feel cozy with her handmade table runners across the farm tables and tons of candles throughout the venue. One of my favorite things though, was a hanging arrangement over the head table. It felt like something out of a fairytale.

Having the same name makes us uniquely us, so we paid homage to the silliness with Bailey’s Irish Creme as our favors.

After planning to pass on videography, we ended up splurging and opting for a video. We are really glad we did. There are so many special elements of the day that it’s hard to remember every detail, even something as special as your vows. Our videographer did a short video trailer for us and we’ve probably rewatched it 100 times. It’s so special to hear our officiant’s charge for our marriage and reground ourselves in the vows we committed to one another.
