Lush greenery reigns supreme in this sweet farm wedding captured by Alba Rose Photography. The couple perfectly mixed vintage, modern, boho, and romantic for a dreamy celebration! We love all the hanging greenery and the stunning mismatched blush sequin bridal party!
I knew I wanted an outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception. I wanted white flowers and greenery everywhere with a “botanical boho” theme. My vision for our wedding included a mix of modern and vintage with a light and airy feel. Our colors included blush with touches of gold, copper, and sequins.
My dress was the epitome of our “theme”. It was bohemian but classic. I loved the shape it gave me and how comfortable it was for an outdoor ceremony. The 3D floral embellishments gave it a boho vibe. I knew I wanted a mix of dresses for the bridesmaids that would blend well together. Every bridesmaid had sequins or sparkle in some form a blush and gold palette. The flower girls were earthy and total bohemian with all white lace dresses and greenery flower crowns. I wanted them to look like little earthy fairies in the woods.
We opted to do the love-knot instead of the traditional unity candle. My brother-in-law performed the love-knot and it was one of our favorite parts of the ceremony. We were able to keep the knotted rope and it is now in a jar on our coffee table for us to look at and remember everyday.
The most important thing to us was making sure we remembered every moment so we made sure to make room in the budget for a photographer we loved to capture all the special moments. We definitely are happy we went with Alba Rose for our photography. We still get teary-eyed when we look at our photos.
I knew I wanted flowers and greenery everywhere. We had garland draping everywhere we could for a botanical feel. I absolutely HAD to have a protea flower in my bouquet and that was the major focal point of my bouquet mixed with greenery and white roses in a cascading shape. The invitations were handmade by me and our mothers and a couple bridesmaids. I ordered a template from Pipkin Paper but I printed, cut and put them together. I also handmade the “W” wreaths that were on the front doors of the barn.
Our wedding cake was an Italian creme 3-tiered cake that was catered by my good friend, Kim Dutton, who owns Butterstick Bakery. My favorite part of the cake was the gold-foil draping over the cake. That mixed with the flowers created the perfect statement piece for our reception.
Don’t get so caught up in all the planning that you forget to have fun and be present for everything. The engagement goes by so fast so take some time to enjoy every celebration with your family and friends and your fiancee. It’s so easy to get caught up in all the planning that you forget to make time for each other. Have regular date nights with NO wedding talk. Also, make a list of the things that are most important to you as a couple for your wedding day and work around that as your starting point and DON’T skimp on your pictures…those last forever.
