When you describe your wedding as “things a grandma would love”, you know it is going to steal all of our vintage loving hearts! Add in a love for greenery and organic elements, and this Cedarwood wedding captured by Ariel Renae Photo is too romantic for words!
We really wanted to get married outside, and the second we found Cedarwood, we knew that it was absolutely perfect for that. When working with them to plan it all, we incorporated lots of greenery and soft purples to bring the feeling of nature into every part of it.
My something old and my something borrowed were both heirloom pieces – My mom’s diamond earrings, which were a gift from my dad, were my something borrowed, and a ring that I wore on my right hand was my something old, which had diamonds from several generations of my family. It was really special, especially since my sister also wore the pieces in her wedding.
I think our biggest priority in the planning process was to try to enjoy it all! We tried to really remember our goals (a fun party, great memories and pictures/videos to remember those memories, and of course ending up married) so when I started getting stressed about something minor like calligraphy, Jeff would bring me back down and remind me of that.
We had a meeting at the beginning of the process to walk through our style, and they found lots of decor with lace details and fun vintage pieces to match just what we wanted. During our planning meeting I just kept saying I wanted “Things a grandma would love”, which is just a very odd way of saying soft, vintage-y, romantic, floral, and a little rustic. Cedarwood ended up calling the style “Vintage Garden” which we really liked.
I got to spend a lot of it with Jeff, which I’ve heard isn’t always the case, so I consider myself really lucky for that. Cedarwood did an amazing job of making sure I didn’t have anything to worry about so that I got to really enjoy the day. And it was also really fun to see all of the elements and decisions that I’d been thinking about and working on for so many months actually all come together!
