It’s really hard not to fall for this chic and colorful summer wedding from Kris Holland. The couple created a setting with the perfect blend of elegance and woodsy charm. Filled with fun chevron patterns and bright pink and turquoise hues, it is certainly one sweet fete!
Woodsy romance. We really loved the idea of juxtaposing the natural woodsiness of the venue with more classic, elegant accents. There was kind of a sophisticated and natural theme throughout every detail.
The wedding was set in Nevada City, where the bride grew up and where the groom, incidentally, spent his childhood summers. The town is incredibly special to both families, and having the wedding there was a way to welcome friends and families to experience the warmth and uniqueness of the town. For the wedding itself, we tried to incorporate and pay tribute to the natural beauty and artfulness of the surroundings and the people who make up such a wonderful place.
The bride’s family stayed up late to help put together programs that also served as fans on the warm summer day, which brought some sweat and laughs to some of the last minute preparations. Also, one of the most amazing aspects of the wedding, the floral arrangements, were done by the bride’s friend. She’s not a professional florist, so in many ways, it was a DIY endeavor. She did an absolutely splendid job, and the flowers truly made the environment feel magical.
There was just so much love – so many smiles, so many friends, and so much… dancing!
