If you are dreaming of an intimate destination wedding, this Florida beach one from Hunter Ryan Photo is too lovely! With gorgeous images and romantic details, this is one of my favorite beach weddings I’ve seen. And I absolutely love her bow sandals!
It was winter and cold here in SLC Utah in February/March. It’s gray and ugly. I really wanted a warm beautiful white sand beach wedding. I wanted small and intimate. I had already had a big crazy wedding and I just wanted it to be more about the two of us and my girls and our immediate families. Mike would’ve been happy going to the courthouse the next day and just get it done! We actually planned the honeymoon first which turned into a “familymoon” because we decided to bring the girls too. We knew we were going on an Eastern Caribbean Cruise in the spring so since we were going out to Florida for the cruise we could do a beach wedding there too.
We had a total of 13 people come out to Marco Island. We stayed at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort and had the wedding on their beach. We did a sunset wedding. The weather was gorgeous! We had a relaxing morning with breakfast and the beach and the pool for a little while and then went in to get ready. I had a girl from the Marriott Resort’s salon come up to my room and do my hair and makeup. We got the girls ready and we all got dressed and then the photographers (HunterRyan Photography) showed up and got a bunch of “detail shots” and pics of everyone getting ready. The flowers arrived and they were absolutely gorgeous! (Botanicals on the Gulf) There was no stress about this day. Everything was just easy and perfect and I loved it!
We all went down to meet and walk out on the beach to the little hut where we had our ceremony. A Bishop from Naples married us. The ceremony was short and sweet and perfect with just our very closest loved ones surrounding us. We did pictures out on beach with everyone and then the wedding party went back to the Marriott’s restaurant “Kurrants” for drinks and hors d’oeuvres on the patio while we finished pictures.
We then met them at the restaurant for dinner. We did toasts around a big beautiful fire pit. Mike and I had one dance together (our parents joined in). My daughters had a small gift for their new step dad. We cut the cake and did the garter toss. Then we all sat around a beautiful table and ate a delicious dinner, laughed and talked, and enjoyed each other. It was simple and beautiful, and just the way we wanted it. After dinner my sweet sister had made arrangements with the Marriott to go out on the beach and light and send off about 25 floating lanterns over the ocean. It was incredible! They were beautiful! It was perfect way to end the night!
