If you love gold and sparkle, you will fall for today’s NYC wedding from Cyrience Creative Studios. Red and gold is a really hard combination to pull off, but this couple combines it in such an elegant way. I’m obsessed with the centerpieces and all cute Up! themed details!
We always talked about having an intimate wedding with family and friends we loved. When we moved to New York City in 2010 our hearts were set on getting married here. On April 4, 2014 the weather was rainy and the day gloomy but it didn’t matter. We had waited a long time to celebrate and weren’t going to let anything take away from it.
We had our ceremony at Battery Gardens in Lower Manhattan. When we were given a tour by their very hands-on coordinator (Michele) we completely fell in love with it. The room had floor to ceiling windows that overlooked a tree with lanterns and beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty. Our ceremony began at 5:00pm and even though I had played this a 100 times over in my head I was a ball of nerves. I began pacing down the aisle until I locked eyes with Brad and I realized in that moment that this was it. All the planning, coordinating, stressing was in the past. Our minister made our ceremony very personable. He even included a little verse I found that reminded me of our love, making it even more special.
After the ceremony we clicked pictures with family and our bridal party while the staff at Battery Gardens magically turned the room around. It was transformed into something dreamy and romantic. Everything from our table numbers to the flowers to the UP! table we had was perfect. UP! is our favorite Disney movie and we decided to include it on our guest table. Our guest book was the adventure book they used in the movie and it had pictures of our journey together as a couple.
I also bought Brad a Grape Soda pin similar to one Ellie gives Carl when they first meet and I pinned it on to his suit right after the ceremony. He wore it all night! It was my favorite part of our day. The movie holds a special place in our hearts because it represents love in its simplest form. It shows you the happy along with the sad and how in the end as long as you have someone you love to go home to nothing else matters.
