If you are a lover of lace and turquoise, then today’s wedding is for you! I am so in love with the bride’s stunning lace gown! And I love the bridesmaids’ looks too. How sweet are the monogram necklaces the bride got for everyone? Such a great gift idea!
The most important thing to us while planning was the date. Clay and I had our ‘big’ wedding on our one year anniversary 23 March 2013. The year before we had a simple ceremony to tie the knot with just our immediate family. So when looking for venues and churches we were very limited, but as clique as it sounds, it all worked out exactly as it should!
The most fun part about planning the wedding was our violinist for the ceremony. Ashlee Duff is a local teacher, a professional violinist, and violin instructor. When we first met and I heard her play some samplings of music, I got goose bumps from head to toe! Her music breathtaking and elegant, exactly how we wanted our guests to feel at the ceremony. She made some suggestions of music to play while guests where arriving and leaving and to my delight she has a laundry list of Disney music! Every little girl wants to be a princess so it was divine to hear Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty playing while the bridal party waited in the wings.
After searching and searching with no luck Clay suggested having our reception at one of our favorite weekend spots Seville Quarter. It is a place we often go with friends on the weekend, so we knew it well. The design and style of Seville is extremely similar to the architecture and motif of the French Quarter in New Orleans, where Clay and I went on our first date. The familiarity and nostalgia of Seville was very fun, relaxed, and acutely our style. We couldn’t imagine having our wedding in some boring hall or country club. Seville has history, not only in Pensacola but also for Clay and me.
The most stressful part about planning the wedding was distance. With my parents in Germany and my bridesmaids in three different states there was a lot of long distance calls and Skype to get everything done, but we made it work. The easiest part about planning our wedding was the photographer. Aislinn photographed our first small ceremony and we could not imagine having anyone else take out pictures on our big wedding day than her. She is a joy to be around and so spontaneous you can’t help but enjoy yourself when she is around.
