I am such a fan of 1920’s style, so whenever I get a shoot or wedding inspired by that period, I just can’t wait to share it! Today I have a romantic take on the Great Gatsby theme from Bethany Boone Photography with details you can’t help but fall in love with. I’m a sucker for gold and gorgeous calligraphy!
The 1920’s was all about things forbidden: booze, women’s rights, and certainly love that crossed social boundaries — as it did in The Great Gatsby. However, amidst all the rules and regulations, an uprising driven by bold art and architecture, brassy music, lavish parties, and decadent lifestyles resulted in what we refer to as “the Golden Age.” Inspired by a present-day revival of these themes of glamour and glitz, but wanting to offer a more “authentic” interpretation for real weddings, our team created a truly period production with Gatsby and Daisy’s forbidden love held at the core.
So what if Gatsby and Daisy’s story had a happy ending? What if this forbidden love resulted in marital bliss? Perhaps this would be their celebration.
