An Intimate Burgundy Winery Wedding

Today I’m sharing an intimate California winery wedding from Hom Photography. Wineries are always gorgeous locations, it’s really hard to go wrong. This couple paired burgundy with yellows and greens to complement their venue and added in some vintage and handmade details to personalize it.

Our theme was Vintage Vineyard and we pursued a classic look and feel. We kept the attire season appropriate and added drama with a range of colors in the flowers. The flowers from Effusive Flowers in West LA were one of my favorite things about the look of the wedding because they were unique and had a rustic feel, but maintained a certain level of formality. I am most proud of the name place holders because we collected wine corks for so long to make them and working on them with my fiance was a fun way to spend time.

Our favorite parts of the day were definitely standing outside above a vineyard reading our vows to each other. Our first dance was also memorable because we had practiced for months and I surprised him by changing into a flirty reception dress. The cake cutting was the perfect close to the night and I am so glad he didn’t smear it all over my face!

It was definitely a hand-made wedding, and our friends helped us with everything! For example, my Maid of Honor made the save the dates, and my God Mother made the cake topper by welding the metals together. A friend, Ariana Engvig, actually made my bird cage veil out of materials from a supply store. She did the perfect job of capturing a vintage style that was actually secure enough to stay in my short hair. While planning, Elan and I were most concerned with making things very simple, but personal. That is why we used our customized monogram on our save the dates, invitations, and as a cake topper. In addition, our picture from the engagement shoot was put on the wine bottle labels.
