Have you thought about your wedding day look? Today’s bride wanted a Marilyn Monroe vibe, and completely nailed it. Such a gorgeous and timeless look for a short haired bride! And of course if you are channeling a vintage vibe, a retro car is a must. The baby blue hue looks perfect with the pops of red. And my other favorite detail of the wedding? The Krispy Kreme flambé station. Anyone else super jealous they didn’t get to taste those?
Our wedding day was absolutely amazing! It was really important to us that our family be present on our big day which is why we chose to do a traditional wedding as opposed to a destination wedding. We have elderly grandparents and we wanted them to be there and experience our vows with us.
Our colors were red, black, and white. My husband Ben is an NCSU fan and those are the school colors. I figured the colors would look really classy so I totally went for the idea. As far as my look, I wanted to go for a vintage 1920s-1950s look so I went with a vintage lace dress and a sassy short haircut inspired by Marilyn Monroe. I loved the way everything came out and I felt truly beautiful and timeless.
Our favorite part of our day (besides actually getting married) was the bouquet toss and the garter toss. My maid of honor caught the bouquet and her boyfriend caught the garter. He did this crazy dance before replacing the garter and the crowd just went wild after that. The secret behind that is he will be proposing to her soon!
