With spring in the air, I am loving a beautiful garden wedding. This Philadelphia wedding from Peach Plum Pear Photo is full of so many great details. A great way to tie a wedding together is with a repeated motif and I love that this couple chose a wreath design for all their signage. It makes everything look so cute and put together.
We wanted a venue that had a mix of historic charm and green outdoor space that was right in center city Philadelphia, so our guests could experience the best of both worlds. We absolutely fell in love with the Colonial Dames Society and really tried to play off of the beautiful vintage feel of the venue. One of my favorite features was the back lawn and garden where we held our ceremony, it felt like a hidden gem.
One of our favorite parts was the ceremony, which was officiated by Will’s father. It made the whole affair feel much more personal and made us both feel much more relaxed up there in front of all our family and friends. We also chose to write our own vows, which made it feel much more special.
We tried to mix in some personal touches to our day, including a family photo table, a postcard guest book featuring our home cities, a whiskey and cigar bar after dinner that featured some of our favorite aperitifs, and favors that included local treats from each of our hometowns. ” It was really important to us to create a fun and memorable evening for our guests, but also to add in personal touches so that it really felt like “us.” Our venue, The Colonial Dames Society, created the perfect atmosphere for this because it felt as though we were hosting guests in our own home, which gave it a much more intimate feel.
