Rustic Handmade Yellow Wedding

Today I’m sharing a beautiful rustic yellow wedding from Lindsey Gomes. I just love all the details, especially the amazing ceremony set up. The old door backdrop with the ‘today our dreams come true’ sign is definitely pin worthy!

Chris is very laid back and reserved, I am a little more high maintenance and kind of a perfectionist. Chris is from Michigan and we wanted his family that was coming from out of state to experience the laid back California lifestyle.

We chose to host our ceremony at Rio Seco Winery because they have been friends of mine since I was 8, the owner was my jazz teacher and her daughter is one of my best friends. It felt comfortable and like home. We got married in a field over looking rolling hills, it was breath taking. After the ceremony we hired a country band to play in the garden while we took pictures, that was my surprise for Chris because he originally wanted a band for the reception and he loves country music.

Our reception was held at the Park Ballroom and my planners and I spent several days and nights brainstorming (mostly on Pinterest) ideas. We hunted high and low for vintage birds, antique tea cups, bird houses, votive holders. We wanted every table to be special and unique. Not one single table was identical. The books that we used were rescues, a friends mom is a home-ec teacher and they were going to throw all these books away from the 50’s. They were very fitting for a wedding a lot were titled how to be a homemaker and poems about dating. The most import detail to me was the candy bar. Anyone that knows me knows that I love sugar, it’s a mystery that I don’t have diabetes. So we filled the candy bar with some of my favorites mostly family made my uncle’s homemade caramel corn, cake pops, rice crispy treats, and then some old favorites like ring pops, gummi worms and next to that was a coffee/ hot chocolate station.
