Megan and Nick’s October wedding brought their signature western chic vision to life with layered personal details and nonstop energy. Before it all began, they shared a private first look, reading their vows to each other in a quiet pause that grounded the day. Cocktail hour leaned playfully Texan with beer burros and a guest book made from The West coffee table book they now keep at home. Inside the reception, chandeliers framed a personalized dance floor filled with custom Fort Worth icons, while many guests fully embraced the dress code with cowboy hats in tow.
Megan’s all-white cake featured cascading bows, while Nick’s groom’s cake—a Yeti cooler covered in “stickers” of his favorite things—was Megan’s perfectly on-brand surprise. As the party ramped up, Megan changed into her custom Tecovas boots, slippers kept guests dancing, and Megan reunited with her TCU Cheer friends for a spirited fight song performance. Espresso martinis and churros kept the momentum going late into the night, which ended with a private dance for the two of them before a streamer-filled sendoff in a blue 1955 Ford Convertible. It was a finale as joyful and high-energy as the celebration itself.
“I wore a gown that I bought from Brick House Bridals in The Woodlands, Texas. I knew I wanted something simple, but definitely with some flair. Originally, I thought I wanted a giant bow somewhere, but once I started trying on dresses, I decided against the bow. Everyone would be expecting a bow somewhere, so I decided to be different. Instead, I chose to wear powder blue Jimmy Choo heels that featured a bow instead. My veil featured small diamond studs and pearls cascading down it. I definitely needed some sparkle somewhere, too!! During the reception, I changed into white and Tiffany blue Tecovas cowgirl boots with our wedding date and my new initials painted on the boot straps. When dancing started, I also changed into a short, sparkly white dress from Anthropologie.”
“The majority of our families are from Houston or California, so we wanted to introduce them to the city that we fell in love with. We wanted to incorporate lots of florals and color with a Western flair. We described the style as “western chic.” Megan is obsessed with bows, so it was fun to incorporate bows into the design where we could.”
“Megan is all about the details, so our celebration blended Texas charm with timeless romance, tied together, quite literally, with bows at every turn! To start, we greeted out-of-town guests with welcome bags filled with Hotel Drover luggage tags, Liquid IV packets, water bottles, mints, Tito’s shooters, cowboy boot bottle openers, Texas-shaped cookies, Joe T. Garcia’s salsa and tortilla chips, and Advil packets. There were fans on each chair during the ceremony, and a live string trio was playing.”
“During cocktail hour, we had custom monogrammed hand towels with our wedding crest draped over servers’ arms and beer burros with baskets filled with Michelob Ultra (Nick’s favorite). At the custom bar, bartenders were serving a margarita named the “Rodeo Rita” and an old-fashioned named “Stockyard Sipper” for our signature cocktails. We also had different variations of boot vases tucked in different places around the event. Our guest book was “The West” coffee table book that we now have placed in our living room.”
“We also had a personalized dance floor with different custom icons that represented what we love about Fort Worth. Plush Party Band kept the dance floor packed, while guests wore sparkly cowboy hats and waved white foam wands. They played the best songs and were extremely interactive, which is exactly what we wanted! We also provided ballet slippers for people to put on when their feet started hurting, but wanted to keep dancing. Megan and a few of her TCU Cheer Alumni friends also performed the fight song with purple and silver pom poms. As the night unfolded, espresso martinis and passed churros fueled the celebration before a streamer-filled exit that sent Nick and Megan off in a blue 1955 Ford Convertible. Every detail truly reflected Nick and Megan’s story.”
