The Broadmoor in Colorado had long been Anna’s dream wedding venue, and its timeless charm became the foundation for their wedding theme. That vision proved invaluable as the couple planned their entire out-of-state wedding in under eight months. With the help of their expert wedding planner, Sapphire Celebrations, they trusted each recommendation, and Anna’s clear vision made the process seamless. The Broadmoor’s vintage aesthetic and ornate interiors helped bring their theme — described as “romance and religion, timelessness and drama” — to life. Dark red roses, wax-dripped candles, Spanish tulle, and satin touches infused their day with a sense of elegance. Anna knew she had found her gown before trying it on: a Monique Lhuillier design layered with such extravagance that it weighed fifteen pounds. Undoubtedly, a gown this luxurious called for its own custom cathedral-length veil. Though the bride and groom had a full day of celebrations, they stole a quiet moment during cocktail hour, slipping away to the library to share a few calm minutes alone.

“I found my princess dress while scrolling on Pinterest one day. I had my Neiman Marcus bring the sample in store because they just so happened to be having a trunk show. I had actually wanted the dress in pink but ended up going with the traditional white as the pink washed me out. It’s a Monique Lhuiller design, 15 lbs in all. We designed my veil, choosing spanish tulle for the soft, romantic look, adding additional satin rosettes from my dress to the bottom of the 5ft train.”

“I loved riding to the church in the old Cadillac with my dad, filing up the whole backseat with my 15lb. dress.”

“Ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamed about getting married and having my wedding, watching Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings. A year into dating Daniel, I pretty much had my whole plan laid out, much to his amusement. It was always only the Broadmoor, never needing to consider another venue. I had visited the resort years prior with my family and fell in love with its timeless elegance.”

“I wanted romance and religion, timelessness and drama. I interpreted this as deep dark red roses, candles with dripping wax, a church ceremony, Spanish tulle, satin ballet shoes, clean makeup with slicked back hair that felt authentic to me.”

“My step-mom, gifted me the same six pence my grandmother had gifted her before her wedding. The tradition is you wear it in your shoe for good luck and prosperity. That was special to me to have something from generations of women in my family.”

“We ended up staying at the Broadmoor, moving to a fabulous suite on our wedding night. Totally the right move. Sleeping in late Sunday, playing in the freshly fallen snow on our balcony, laying in bed in our robes, sharing mimosas; it was heavenly.”
