Bringing a touch of Tuscany to New England, today’s waterside wedding from Jessica K Feiden is full of charm. From the woven baskets of greenery to the modern signage to Nana’s cookies, this wedding is the perfect blend of chic and romantic.
I got a lot of our inspiration from family traditions, a friend’s Tuscan wedding, Instagram, and Pinterest. We wanted that outdoor Tuscan garden feel brought to New Hampshire. Our aesthetics that were inspired by our Italian family and Sunday family dinners included greenery at the entrance of our reception tent, rustic wood exposed tables, greenery throughout our neutral and romantic flower palette, candlelight and family style seating and dinner with passing our dishes- all of which were Italian inspired.
The dress I chose was completely different than what I thought I would end up in. I knew it was the one when I came out, and my Mom started crying, and I felt so happy and myself in it. Also, it was important to me that I would be comfortable and have the ability to dance the night away in my dress. Which was a success! My something blue was a pin my mother got me with the miraculous medal on it, and I pinned it to my bouquet.
We were so on the fence with having a first look, but decided last minute that we were going to do one, and we were over the moon that we did that. It gave us one-on-one time together before the rest of the day, and to really enjoy those last moments together as fiances. We also got all of our formality photos done with our amazing bridal party and family. To top it off, it calmed our nerves and made walking down the aisle that more memorable and fun!
Walking down with my Dad and having him give me away to Ryan was an emotional moment. My heart knew that all of our loved ones there were so happy for us, and our union together. The rest of the day and evening was just perfect. After the ceremony, we had some more time alone together with our amazing photographers and videographers. Our dog sitter brought Bowden for a few fun photos, and then off he went, and we went to go party!
We loved our jazz quartet and the cozy, vintage lush furniture we rented for cocktail hour. We personalized our cocktail napkins with our dog Bowden on them. The greenery and baskets we rented from a local gardener for our reception tent entryway. For dinner, everything was served family style dinner with delicious Italian options and our personalized menus with our guests’ names at the top, along with the details of the menu also in Italian.
Our favorite local bakery, Elephantine, made our beautiful cake and an olive ficelle for each guest on their dinner plate. My Nana’s Italian cookies for the dessert table that my Mom made.
We had taken dance lessons prior to our big day, so our first dance to “Joy of my Life” by Chris Stapleton, was extra special, and definitely a favorite lasting memory.
