Garden romance meets boho in a floral explosion with today’s stunner of a wedding captured by Devon Donnahoo Photography! Every detail is gorgeous: from the vibrant color palette to the ceremony florals to the architectural inspired cake. A favorite detail has to be the palm fond table numbers! If you are dreaming of a wedding that is the perfect blend of romantic and boho, this is the inspo for you!
Our wedding was inspired by Stephanie’s Cuban heritage and love of the sea mixed with Christopher’s history growing up in coastal Georgia. Combined, and with the help of our FABULOUS wedding planner, we came up with a dreamy color palette of turquoise, golds, and the pastel pinks and oranges reminiscent of Charleston and Louisiana architecture, and soft earthy brown tones. I wanted the vibe to be very romantic and timeless so the garden setting with the fairy-tale staircase featured in some of our pictures complimented that perfectly. While the outdoor garden setting was not what we originally settled on, COVID steered us in that direction and it ended up being absolutely dream-like. We were stressed about the weather leading up to the big day for sure, but thankfully everything went off without a hitch!
To go along with the theme, we both wanted something romantic and timeless but with surprising pops when it came down to color and especially texture. The wedding gown was very traditional from the front but then there’s that wow factor with the train and low back. And it was shockingly light-weight! Stephanie fell in love with it instantly. Chris’s tux – I mean, could he have looked more handsome. That teal with the slightest shine to it complemented the theme (and his coloring!) so well.
I wore a ring that my late grandmother loved. The ring has a large white opal adorned with a small halo of diamonds. It complimented the dress really beautifully and was a way for me to have my grandmother close on my special day.
For Christopher, it was all about the food and the music. For Stephanie, the florals and accents. She was told over and over that no one ever remembers the flowers at weddings but for her the florals were unforgettable. She doesn’t think anyone else will. Heather and Kyah with Pearl and Sky are flower fairies and worked absolute magic that day. The DETAILS from the table numbers written on dried palm fronds, the dried floral accessories given to members of the bridal party, and the ribbon tied around the bride’s and bridesmaid’s bouquet just pulled everything together in a way that was magical.
What we were looking for in a cake was three things: we wanted it to be delicious, to match our color scheme, and have an architectural element to it. All were achieved by Gingerspice.
