If you are a fan of greenery you are going to fall head over heels for this 2019 wedding captured by Angela Lally Photography! The classic greenery look was given a modern and romantic touch with pampas grass throughout the decor. We love all the potted plant centerpieces for an added organic touch!
I grew up riding horses since I was 8 years old and kind of always knew I wanted to get married in a barn! Addison Grove was perfect to me because it was a classy venue and I loved the blue/grey of the barn and how big the property was. I wanted a classic style of wedding that would not go out of style. I wanted to incorporate whites, greens, and other neutral colors into my wedding. My favorite addition was a slight incorporation of a light orange that was woven in my bouquet and in the pampas grass in vases at my ceremony.
I got my dress at Belle Saison bridal in Austin, TX. My dress was strapless with a slightly bigger skirt and the whole dress was covered in these tiny little white flowers. Funny enough I always said I would never wear a strapless dress on my wedding day! But when I tried on dresses – I fell in love with it. My shoes were also covered in tiny little flowers and were Badgley Mischka. My grandma had let me borrow a ring that my Great Grandma Moorhead used to wear and that was really special! My mom bought me tiny blue tiffany earrings that I also wore on the day of.
The most important thing to us in wedding planning was that our faith and love for each other was displayed at the wedding. We wanted our personalities to shine through and the whole meaning of this day was not overshadowed by other things. My mom reminded me many times in the wedding planning process that the most important thing about your wedding is that it is our day together and that we were demonstrating our love in front of God, family and friends.
For my wedding flowers, I wanted whimsical and a little quirky. My bouquet was white flowers with a little bit of light orange and neutral shades. We had pampas grass and greenery incorporated throughout the venue as well. One of my favorite parts was that we had these little pots on the tables at reception with little green plants and succulents. The head table had a huge piece of greenery running through the middle and it was really beautiful. At the little tables we had white flowers cut off at the stem in a stem vase and they added a romantic feel.
My advice is – if you can splurge on a wedding planner – DO IT! It helped so much in the wedding planning process especially as I was planning this 8 hours away from the venue. Another thing is – let your day be about you and your future spouse! Many brides say on their wedding day that they forgot the whole thing or don’t remember a lot about their day. Be purposeful about being in the moment throughout your day and hold on to those bigger memories that made your day so special with the people you love.
