Today’s couple is from Norway and knew they wanted a fun destination wedding their guests would love. We wanted a destination wedding because we wanted something a bit different. For us the most important thing was to go away with our friends and family and spend time together. That is something you get when it’s a destination wedding. We found the perfect location at Penha Longa in Portugal. The hotel were the guest stayed at is a 5 star hotel, so you get all the comfort and luxury you want. But the venue where the wedding was is a historical venue with loads of charm and in an old Portuguese chateau. So the mix of a luxury hotel with a venue that has loads of charm, was really the best of both worlds.
We are both very classical people and that reflects in the attire choices for the day. The wedding dress was quite simple, yet elegant and for me it was important to add some small details as shoes, flowers, and head piece to make it a bit more special.
For us the most important thing was to make sure that our guests had the best of time while they were in Portugal. Therefore it was important for us to also spend time and money on the day before the wedding. So we arranged a dinner at the Friday before the wedding day, so that everyone get a chance to meet up. This also really made the whole weekend more memorable for us, because we got to spend even more time with our guests.
