If you love beachy tropical vibes, but really want something elegant, today’s wedding is the inspiration for you. Set at a romantic Florida estate, this destination wedding from NK Productions Wedding Planning, captured by Jacqui Cole, is an absolute dream. We are obsessed with all the vibrant and fresh florals! And how stunning is Bianca’s look? The detailing on her gown and veil is swoon-worthy!
We felt that we had so much to celebrate in our relationship, we wanted a wedding that reflected us – fun and light-hearted while being elegant and romantic. From the beginning we wanted it to be outside and we choose to do it in St.Petersburg, where my parents currently live, because we knew that would give us lots of dates for beautiful outdoor weather. My family is from Brazil and India, and I knew from the beginning I wanted rich and warm colors to encapsulate our day. David and I felt like a tropical flair would add to the fun of our day and bring in family ties. My engagement ring was already gold, and we knew that pairing those florals with gold accents would elevate and match the black-tie affair we knew we wanted. When we started we did not have many specifics of our vision and allowed vendors help guide us throughout the process.
David wanted to incorporate his Air Force status and wear his uniform but also wanted to make it more personal, choosing to change into a regular tuxedo for the reception. Knowing we were going to have the rich navy of the Air Force uniforms in David’s attire guided the rest of our decisions. We wanted the ladies to match, and when one of my maid-of-honors suggested a skirt and top idea, we loved it! It reflected the groomsman beautifully and allowed us to choose whichever flowers we wanted. For my dress, I knew I wanted some lace and had a suspicion I’d go for long sleeves, but went into my bridal fittings with a very open mind. The gown I selected was one picked out by our bridal consultant and was a beautiful reflection of the romantic and tropical vibes we were going for.
We had a couple personal details but the one that really stands out to me is our ceremony itself. We worked with our officiant to design a ceremony that was uniquely ours. We chose passages and vows that were about respecting each other and embracing our differences as we begin our marriage. It was a perfect start to our day and our marriage and it was unique to us.
We knew we wanted a tropical and fun affair when we started the planning process and with our desire for rich colors, we started to turn to deep reds with orange and pink highlights. The colors felt very tropical on their own, and allowed us to be both playful and also elegant. When we first met with Ian and Zoe at Botanica, we were fairly flexible and asked them to help us with choosing specifics. They were really wonderful to work with and created vibrant set of florals for us that really encapsulated the joy and romance we were looking for.
The most important thing for us was food and music! At the end of the day, we wanted our wedding to be a wonderful day for our guests and we realize that most of their experience is those two things and we definitely splurged on those. We also decided to splurge on our photos once we saw Jacqui’s profile. One day, when we tell our kids about our wedding, our pictures are all we’ll have to show them. We wanted be sure they could capture the love and happiness of that day and once we saw her profile, we were sold.
