Classic and effortlessly elegant, today’s South Carolina wedding captured by Ava Moore Photography is everything a traditional Southern heart will love! From the custom napkins with the couple’s beloved dog to the bride’s veil trimmed in her mother’s wedding dress, there are so many sweet details. We love the blue and white print for the reception linens for a fun pop!
I love neutrals, organic florals, and anything classic. Ask any of my friends, I am very traditional, and don’t like anything too crazy. My wedding planners and designers did convince me to incorporate the blue La Tavola linen, and I was so happy to have the pop of fun! We chose Greenville Country Club because of the classic look and the golf course views. My step-grandfather was a former president of the club, and passed away during our engagement, so it was really special to have the reception at his favorite place.
I always knew that I wanted a solid satin gown with a long train. I actually found my Jenny Yoo dress at Nordstrom. I ordered it online, and tried it on at home with my mom. We looked at each other, and said “Yep, that’s the one!”. We did go to a bridal shop after to ensure it was the one we liked, and nothing compared to the Jenny Yoo gown. For my bridesmaids, I loved the grey-blue Jenny Yoo dresses that we chose! We went to Bella Bridesmaids Greenville, and I let all of the bridesmaids try on all of the styles, and choose their favorite.
I loved both of my first looks, with my dad, and then with Nick. As soon as I saw Nick, all nerves about the day melted away, and we were able to just be with each other! Having all of our college friends back together for the first time since graduation was the icing on the cake. I loved having all of our favorite people in one place.
We actually had a lot of family heirlooms, as we are both close with our families! We had a local seamstress take the lace off the bottom of my mother’s wedding dress, and add it to the edge of my veil. I also wore my grandmother’s sapphire ring during our ceremony, and my mom’s diamond bracelet. Nick’s wedding band was his father’s wedding band. It had his parents’ wedding date engraved on the inside, so I took it to our favorite jeweler, Croghan’s, and they were able to add our date next to it! Our ring bearer carried Nick’s father’s bible down the aisle.
My mom and I are both huge flower lovers. Flowers were important to both of us. I wanted a large, organic bouquet, and Kate Asire Flowers delivered! I trusted her completely, and she created a neutral bouquet, with some nude blooms that brought depth to the overall look. We had a lot of compliments on the floral mantel in the reception area, and the climbing greenery framing the cake.
We had napkins made with our dog, Finn. We are obsessed with our dog, so it was the perfect tie-in. We had so many guests rave over the napkins, because Finn is such a huge part of our lives.
