We are sharing the sweetest boho Maine wedding from Melanie Zacek Photography today! We love the relaxed summer vibes and simply sweet details that make this wedding unique.
My vision for the wedding was bohemian inspired. I love all things Boheme. I chose neutral/soft pastel colors such as sage greens, light pinks and oranges. We got married in Maine where our family is in the middle of summer at a really cute barn venue. It was an indoor/outdoor wedding.
I’ve always liked simple looks, I let my girls choose what dresses they liked and mismatched them and I actually love how it turned out. They were of course all within my color pallet choices but they got to choose something that worked for them. For the grooms men they all matched my husband minus their ties and shoes. We chose light heathered gray suites. For me, I knew I wanted to add a gypsy/bohemian look to my dress. I chose something with a long train and lacey details. I had layered jewelry and and velvet heels.
I would say some of the most memorable parts of the day was when the song I was walking down the aisle to started playing and it was go time. I loved just enjoying the moments with my husband by my side. Really everything was my favorite I don’t feel like I can necessarily choose anything too specific!
The most important thing to us was to keep things pretty simplistic. We didn’t want to go overboard on anything and we wanted to make things as stress free for everyone (including us) as possible. I skipped out on the flower toss and we held off on a honey moon for a few months. I would say we splurged on decor.
My father actually built all of our picnic benches that we used under our tent, and also built our TP structure. I did hand make some wooden hanging pieces for the tent. Just two wooden circle pieces intertwined together with some fake vines and flowers. Most everything else was found at antique stores or thrifted.
After meeting with a florist and realizing how costly flowers were going to be I tried to keep things simple but within my color pallet. I chose a lot of air plants that wouldn’t need water and were hearty. I only purchased air plants, my bouquet, wristlets for the ladies and boutonnières for the gentleman. I did get to vases of some eucalyptus for the isle. The other flowers around the venue were hand cut from my in-laws yard and made perfect last minute decor for our tent and around the barn.
