Get ready for the sweetest Wisconsin wedding from our favorites The Ganeys! It may have rained right after the ceremony, but this couple was all smiles. We love the monarch butterfly in the bride’s bouquet to represent her grandmother, such a darling detail. The bride also sewed a piece of her mother’s gown inside her own and wore her sister’s veil. The result was a day filled to the brim with sentimental details!
I am all about natural, subtle colors so of course that fueled my vision for the day. I also love the greens a golf course provides so I wanted a mix of earthy, rustic with an elegant and vintage feel and Oneida was perfect for that!
I wanted to my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and not break the bank so I allowed them to find and choose their own dress style keeping within the desired shade of purple and grey I wanted. For my dress, I went into dress shopping with an open mind but knew my dress right away because I found I was constantly comparing other dresses to it. My dress was the perfect combination of what I wanted to feel on my wedding day, elegant with a vintage feel and of course some lace!
Something special for me was the heart shaped piece of fabric from my mothers wedding dress sown into my dress above my heart with blue stitching. My seamstress is a family friend and had cut up my mothers wedding dress to make 4 baptism gowns, one for each of my sisters and I and she still had some fabric left over. To me, it was a perfect way to keep close to my heart, the love my mother has given to me that has made me able to love Nathan as much as I do. The respect, kindness and understanding she and my father have for one another is inspiration for me to always be conscientious of how I treat and love Nathan.
Buds’n’Blooms did the flowers, decorations, corsages, and boutonnieres for our wedding and as always, they did a wonderful job. I had wanted succulents, light pink roses, lilacs, white peonies, thistles, and greenery in my bouquet and they went over and above! My biceps were sore from carrying it but it was so worth it!
Above all we enjoyed being surrounded by our closest friends and family. I kept mentioning throughout the night that I felt so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life to help Nathan and I celebrate our marriage. I also enjoyed our cupcakes and late night snack of McDonalds French fries. Not only did Mr. and Mrs. Shanock sponsor our wedding at the Country Club, but also they brought in French fries from their McDonalds for our late night snack! Who doesn’t love salty French fries after drinking all night?
