It’s rustic glam at its finest with today’s Washington farm wedding from Misty C Photography! We love all the little rustic touches with antlers throughout the florals and centerpieces. And how beautiful is the handmade ceremony altar with suspended window frames?
The location we chose for our wedding is on the orchard farm where my family lives and where I grew up. We were hesitant to do this instead of just picking a venue that is used year ’round because we would be starting with nothing and it was going to be a lot of work. Thankfully, my Dad was all for it and got the ground plowed and grass planted in the Fall before our wedding. By early Spring we had grass peeking through the ground and I knew we had made the right choice. We had a beautiful background and view during our ceremony, we can say that no one else has ever gotten married there before, and it is a place very special to my heart… a place I will always be able to call “home”.
I knew my dress was the one as soon as I tried it on… my mom actually picked it out of the racks and the sparkles definitely fit me. And of course, I had to wear my boots! My bridesmaids were all dressed in the same color, steel blue, but I let them choose a style that they liked and felt comfortable in… my one condition was that I wanted them all to be in a long dress. The guys wore boots and jeans with a shirt/vest combination on the top to dress it up a bit more. We had thought about tux’s but that wouldn’t have been Ethan’s style. All of our colors and attire choices ended up blending well and looking great together.
I had a tie patch handmade for my Dad that read “I loved you first” with our wedding date and an old picture of us fishing when I was younger.

At the ceremony my dad and I drove up in my late Grandpa’s ’55 Tiffany blue Ford… we left it parked there for the remainder of the evening with a small memorial of flowers and a picture on the tailgate.
The photography was our #1 priority, which is why we chose Misty. We knew she would provide us with lovely photos that we will cherish and love forever. The other thing we chose to splurge on was the flowers. A gorgeous bouquet can make almost anything look more beautiful. Although it would have been nice to have a video of our wedding day, we chose to skip out on a videographer. We figured pictures will be hung up in our home and looked at everyday, whereas a video will get looked at maybe once a year, if even that. So, we put that chunk of money into other things.
Our bouquets were made with peonies (my fav!), ranunculus, roses, greenery, and my bouquet even had deer antlers in it! We used waxflower as the tables centerpieces. We loved all our floral arrangements so much… its a shame that they cant stay fresh forever!
Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious… we went with just a small 3 tiered “naked” cake and decided not to be traditional with the whole save the top round for your one year anniversary thing. We thought we’ll just go order a fresh cupcake in the same flavor to celebrate each year instead. We also had a family friend make the yummiest mini and regular sized cheesecake cupcakes… and oh man were they divine!
