Chic style and the beautiful palm covered beaches in Portugal were top priority for these two grooms for their destination wedding captured by Passionate Wedding Photography! We just could not be more in love with their wedding day looks! With dapper suits and stunning groomsmaid gowns you would die for, this beachside wedding is everything we love about a fun summery outdoor wedding.
We always wanted a destination wedding, in a warm country. Portugal soon came to mind and we just ran with it. Algarve Wedding Planners showed us a number of venues but coincidentally it was the first venue we fell in love with, the Vidamar Resort. No doubt about it, the palm trees sealed the deal.
The ceremony took place in a shaded cabana style area, which has a view of the ocean. For the dinner we had the tables moved from the standard decking area into the palm tree garden for that extra wow factor. The style team at AWP designed a chill out area for our cocktail reception with white painted pallets and cushions. We wanted a classic overall decor style with a lot of white and a touch of gold. We both created our own unique cocktails for the cocktail hour, aptly named after our hometowns (“Lusk Lunatic” & “Ballybrack Bomb”).
Our three piece suits were made to measure by Louis Copeland & Sons on Wicklow Street, Dublin. We always wanted to wear different colour suits that would compliment each other. In the end we opted for an Italian fabric, with the same window pane print. John wore the grey and Stephen chose the blue. We wanted to add something different to the look, that suited the summer style so we decided to wear white adidas gazette runners with the suits. We got this inspiration from Pinterest when looking at suits. The suit trousers were tailored to be rolled up at the ends, to create a more relaxed summer style. The groomsmaids in white gowns and the groomsmen in white shirts complimented the colour theme. The groomsmaids dresses from Carries Closet were stunning, everyone was blown away.
We had all white flowers with a touch of greenery. The buttonaires were white roses with some baby’s breath. The bouquets were similar with roses, baby’s breath and other white flowers, with a long stream of white ribbon flowing from each bouquet. We had the same style flowers surrounding the base of the candlearbas on the dinner tables. We designed individual name tags to go around the neck of the sparking wine party favours. We also designed the different signs such as “Pimp your prosecco”, “take a shot and take your seat” and our custom cocktail sign, with the help of a graphic designer, Aga at Print Fairy in Dublin. Aga also helped us design our boarding card save the dates and passport invites.
