Family heirlooms are our lifeblood here at Glamour & Grace, so today’s shoot inspired by them from Betsy Couture captured by Todd Collins is an instant favorite! From the location at a family home to the glassware and centerpieces, this shoot is filled to the brim with heirlooms. Even the wedding dress was inspired by designs from the 1930’s, making it a vintage lover’s dream!
Nowadays, where else does family, young and old, from far and near, come together in love and creating memories more profoundly than at a wedding? Brides who have the ability to include family heirlooms, family locations, and family history into their weddings share the love of those who have passed on in a unique and meaningful way. So, this styled shoot was purposely designed to focus on the gentle sweetness, elegance, and tender family love that my mother and grandmothers worked so hard at, but made look so easy. All of them were beautiful, sweet, gracious women who placed a high value on quality time together as extended family members. They shared their love of family and the importance of time together by carefully planning beautiful events that instilled a love of family in all of us that were fortunate to have known them. In a bygone era where Sunday family dinners served as a time for young and old to gather around a perfectly presented table with fine English Bone china, delicate crystal, sterling silver, crisply pressed table cloths, a perfectly planned menu, hand written place cards, deliberately thought out seating assignments, and fresh cut flowers from the garden; I learned the art of entertaining, and the love of and importance of family. Those were gentler times; tender times filled with laughter, love and gratitude. This shoot epitomizes the love of family over the past generations moving towards the next.
