We’ve fallen head over heels for this romantic wedding from Blooms and Bouquets captured by Ashley Crawford inspired by the groom’s Italian heritage! There are so many sweet handmade details, like custom wine and olive oil favors made by the bride’s parents. We are really loving the vibrant color palette and fresh florals!
We wanted a traditional and elegant Catholic church ceremony using navy and gold as our main colors. My husband’s name (Samuel Charles Minardi IV) was the inspiration for our Italian theme as well as my lace dress. We combined that along with my parents’ wine-making stills, a beautiful antipasto spread and a delicious Italian dinner in a charming industrial style reception hall in north downtown Omaha.
A silver memorial angel was incorporated into by bouquet that was given to me from a close family friend.
We wanted to find a venue with a rustic yet romantic atmosphere and that would allow us to use the vendors of our choice. We also wanted to be sure our guests would be comfortable and have a wonderful time celebrating with us.
We included 200 bottles of wine made by my parents decorated with an engagement photo of Sam and I. The wine bottle label said “Sam & Kristen, a perfect blend”. A miniature wine barrel with our names and wedding date on it was used for a card holder at the gift table.
Wedding favors were 8 oz bottles of rosemary flavored olive oil also made by my parents. A tag was tied on with twine that said “Grazzi.”
This day was something more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. As any couple on their wedding day, we weren’t prepared with how fast the day flew by! Some of our favorite moments were seeing each other at our ‘first look’ – both of us were tired and nervous but that moment made everything ok, listening to the beautiful wedding ceremony music by Karly Jurgensen Daniel, walking into our reception hall with our wedding party and seeing the décor complete-it was beyond our expectations, my father’s speech, which he ended by giving my husband a photo of me he had carried in his wallet for years – not a dry eye in the room, ending the evening with tacos for our guests from a popular food truck.
