Blush and lace abound in today’s vintage style blush wedding from Elizabeth Henson Photos. I cannot get over the utterly romantic ceremony decor! From the old chapel door entry way, to the vintage church window frames as ceremony backdrop, the whole set up is a dream!
Our style was comprised of antique, sweet, soft, and romantic touches, with a little bit of patriotism thrown in. The colors included blush and creams for the bridesmaids, and navy blue and grey for the groomsmen. The ceremony was conducted outside and included antique chapel doors and windows as a backdrop for us. Aside from those decorations, we wanted nature to provide the beauty of our ceremony.
I (Demi) had my late Granny’s blue handkerchief that she left for me. I used the handkerchief throughout the day to wipe away many tears of joy. My bouquet had 2 charms attached for remembrance of my grandmother and Brandon’s mother.
(Demi) My favorite part was praying with Brandon while holding hands around the corner of a wall so that we would not see each prior to the ceremony. Another favorite part was walking down the aisle and recognizing the support and love of everyone in attendance at their wedding and feeling very grateful for it.
One of the most important parts was making sure that Demi’s brother, who is autistic, was able to attend, yet that he would be comfortable and be able to enjoy himself without getting too overwhelmed. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and was happy throughout the ceremony and even danced at the reception. It was also important that we had the people who are truly important and care about us there to spend our special day with.
(Brandon) My favorite part of the day was after walking down the aisle, I got to take Demi to the side and embrace her and kiss her. I was relieved and joyful to finally be married to my true love.
Our muted flower colors, mercury glass, candles, and lace, gave our reception an antique feel. The cake was a beautiful naked cake that was soft with blush and cream colors and flowers. It was the best cake we have ever tasted, and Demi doesn’t even like cake! Brandon changed from his ceremony attire to his Marine Corps dress blues, and he was presented with an American themed red, white, and blue cake as a surprise. The dance floor was packed and people danced the night away. It was truly a wonderful event.
We both enjoyed being able to spend time with all of their friends from all parts of the country at the same time for the very first time. We truly had a wonderful wedding! It was absolutely wonderful having all our loved ones with us, and the party was great!
