With a glam art deco style and relaxed feel, this gold and blush wedding from Cory & Jackie is one for the books! I love the effortless elegance of the whole day. And seriously, I think this is the most gorgeous mis-matched bridal party I’ve seen! Every detail is so sweet and dreamy.
Obviously our wedding is very precious to us! We wanted it to be a day of just celebrating our love without any stress. If there was something in a design or in the logistics of the day that we didn’t feel connected to, we got rid of it!
Our style matched our personalities because we have a flair for the dramatics and prioritize little luxuries. The 1920s era summed up up a lot of our inspiration for life and our wedding. But, we aren’t so formal so a more bohemian, relaxed spin was put on everything. Our colors, blush champagne, and mixed metals, mirrored the glitz of our style but with a romantic side.
Our first look was really special– Kyle’s friend, Stephanie Lambing, is a singer-songwriter in Nashville and she was playing some of our favorite love songs leading up to the first look.
We accidentally got engaged on the same day as Kate’s parents. Then, when we were picking a date, we selected April 11th without remembering right away that Kate’s paternal grandparents got married on that day. With the strong family themes on the bride’s side, and the groom’s close family, we wanted to honor that. We had a photo collection displayed of our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents on their wedding days.
The bridal party made the seating chart display, which was the seating cards hanging on ribbons off two cherry trees. The chair signs on the bride and groom’s chair was also DIY, along with the cornhole set our guests signed (we are from the midwest!)
We loved all of the speeches from our parents and maid of honor and best man. Finally, our first dance was performed by Aaron Steenhoven, our brother in law, who is another singer-songwriter in the Nashville area. He re-wrote two of “our songs” into a mash-up for us. We also loved just being super newlyweds!
