Starting off summer with this charming historical garden wedding from Archetype Studio Inc. I’m in love with the soft lilac hue of the bridesmaid dresses. It’s such a classic and elegant color palette paired with cream.
I loved the idea of an outdoor wedding. Cheekwood is a special place to Erik and I. One of our first dates was there to see the Chihuly’s blown glass exhibit, we’ve volunteered there setting up the Bruce Munro exhibit, and we’ve enjoyed many a lazy sunday strolling the grounds and relaxing.
My mom handmade my veil using lace from the trim of her wedding dress. It was very special and I was AMAZED at how it turned out. My bracelet with diamonds and emeralds is also a very old heirloom. I loved seeing my bridesmaids all dressed up for the first time. Made me feel so special to be surrounded and celebrated by my best friends. Pretty sure the waterworks came out.
My favorite was seeing my husband to be as I walked down the aisle. That’s what I always looked forward to most when thinking of our wedding.
I loved taking our photos, because it was the only alone time I had with my new husband and was such a peaceful time for us. Plus it let the excitement build for the reception!
We had a polaroid guestbook so that was pretty cool! Aside from my day job, I make time to be a photographer, so it was really cool to be able to incorporate a little bit of my personality in the details. Also made us really happy when looking through after the wedding. We ended up using the polaroid camera and taking the extra film left over from the wedding with us on our honeymoon!
The best part was our send off and being so happy knowing it was just the beginning of our story of something amazing.
