I love all the sweet touches of lavender in today’s Washington state barn wedding from Courtney Bowlden. It’s the perfect pop of color for their neutral palette. I think the groom wins most unique groomsman gift award, giving them custom handmade hatchets. But the dreamiest detail of this wedding is the gorgeous Sarah Seven dress!
Looking back on our special celebration, everything came together beautifully! We went for a romantic and rustic theme with touches of elegance.
With my husband being Canadian, he was living up in Canada until the wedding. With that being said the majority of the planning was left to me. With our wedding date being only a few months after graduating college, studying and taking my nursing boards and only 15 days after starting a full time job, wedding planning was stressful to say the least. When planning got overwhelming it was important for us to focus on our love for each other and the root reasons behind our marriage. Doing so helped keep the stress from taking away the excitement around finally starting our life together!
Our reception was held in a large rustic barn with stunning large chandeliers that hung from the barns ceiling beams, which added the perfect element of charm and sophistication. When it came to our color scheme I wanted to keep things really neutral. The only color we added was a “dusky mauve” hue which my bridesmaids wore and the small pop of color in our hand-picked lavender bouquets.
The entire day was just so special and was by far the best day of our lives! Our ceremony was definitely one of our most favorite parts. The overwhelming love that we felt from all of our friends and family was indescribable. We also LOVED the dancing. It was so fun to see all of our loved ones letting loose and having the time of their lives on the dance floor!
