If you love that soft romantic look, you will fall head over heels for this spring Texas wedding from Michele Shore. The florals are so stunning, especially that ribbon flower ceremony backdrop. Such an easy DIY idea that makes a huge statement.
I wanted our wedding to feel like a vintage, English garden party, with an outdoor ceremony, in front of a beautiful tree – which is difficult to find in the middle of Dallas, Texas! But after much searching, we found the perfect tree, on the beautiful lawn of the Cooper Hotel, complete with geese swimming in the pond and wandering the grounds. It was April, so we kept the colors light and springy: blush, coral, gold, and mint green.
Everything was wonderful, but the part that stands out the most was walking back down the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife (by the very judge responsible for our meeting…we were both interning for the judge as law students when we met.) Not only had I just been married to my best friend, and love of my life, but turning and seeing all our family and friends beaming back at us, there was so much joy in that moment, I’ll never forget it.
I really enjoyed hand-making a lot of the items we incorporated into our wedding (with plenty of help from friends and family!) The wedding favors were small packets of coffee that I wrapped in brown postal wrap, stamped with a custom “Perfect Blend” stamp from Etsy, and finished with a little twine bow. I also made the little popcorn flavor signs, the ring bearer’s sign, and the guest book sign out of chalkboards and stenciled white paint lettering. My sister made the gorgeous gold glitter-dipped feathers, and my mom helped me turn them into pens for the guest book!
First and foremost it was making sure our friends and family had a wonderful time. It’s easy to get caught up in flowers and cake, but most important was getting to see all our guests, who came from near and very far, and making sure that everyone enjoyed the party! The Special Edition Band had the dance floor packed all night, and our photo booth was a huge hit (we have all the photos to prove it!)
