With Independence Day coming up this weekend, I fell in love with this red and blue California wedding from Jenny Smith & Co. The rich burgundy florals are so stunning, especially with the little touch of orange with the kumquats.
Our inspiration was Old California, tying in the California Spanish architecture of our venue with an outdoor ceremony and reception. For colors, we went for a neutral pallet mixed with rich jewel tones. We also tried to infuse as much natural elements as we could with succulents, wood, and iron.
While we were searching for venues, a family member suggested the Kellogg House Pomona. We knew it was our perfect venue right from our first visit; especially with the California Spanish style architecture and lush grounds. The big plus was that it was right in our families’ backyards.
It was really important that our wedding included personalized touches and we did that with DIY projects. Our table numbers were our favorite since we used them to honor Cory’s grandpa, a carpenter honored with a wooden block, and my Nonno, an ironworker honored with an iron number.
