If you are loving that lush romantic look, today’s New Orleans wedding from Sapphire Events, photographed by Maile Lani, will capture your heart. The bride’s anemone and ranunculus bouquet is so breath-taking. And I love all the moss and hanging floral details to really bring the outside in and create a whimsical and romantic atmosphere.
Our wedding was shaped by the rustic beauty of New Orleans and our unique, individual heritages. We carried a continued theme of classic elegance throughout all facets of the event. Our guests were bathed in warm candlelight and romanced by the backdrop of old world charm at Latrobe’s on Royal.
My most memorable parts of the day were walking into the church, seeing how beautiful it looked and seeing my husband waiting for met down the aisle. And our private moment in the stairwell of Latrobe’s after the Second Line.
Candle centerpieces adorned each table dripping in Spanish moss which brought a bit of the NOLA landscape inside. Champagne was served in vintage coupe glasses while guests nibbled on an expansive spread of fresh seafood flown in especially for the event from my home town in RI. Dinner was scrumptious and served up a taste of my Portuguese heritage. We wanted our guests to have a great time and to create a memorable event for everyone. Food and music are so important to both our families, so it only seemed fitting that the focus would be there.
A seven piece band played well into the evening and sounded us off through a shimmering shower of twinkling lights cast from sparklers our guests held high over our heads before we stole away as husband and wife.
