I am absolutely obsessed with all the lush florals in today’s Texas wedding captured by The Bird & The Bear. The colorful centerpieces paired with the lace runners give such a romantic look. And that ceremony arch? Heavenly!
I wanted our wedding to have a bohemian, organic, rustic feel to it. I love the look of long farm tables, lots of candles, and vibrant pops of colors. Austin is a place that means a lot to both Nate and myself. I lived in Austin after college and Nate grew up in Austin, but moved in high school. We both love the hill country and music, just the energy of Austin, so we knew this is where we wanted to get married.
I wanted to get married outside and some place beautiful. I loved Pecan Grove because it captured the bohemian and rustic feel we wanted. We had many friends travel from all over the U.S. and knew they would enjoy seeing the hill country and eating Texas BBQ while listening to blue grass music!
I loved walking down the aisle and seeing faces of friends and family and then seeing Nate waiting for me. The flowers were absolutely beautiful and made the whole experience heavenly. Also, a very dear family friend is an Episcopalian minister and married us. His homily was so personal and touching. He even played a bit of some Jackson 5 at one point which was such a fun surprise and everyone broke out into a dance. He truly captured the spirit of who Nathan and I are as a couple. Nate and I were just both so excited to be marrying each other we couldn’t stop smiling and laughing.
My mother was a tremendous help along with our wedding planner, Heather Sorenson. I just showed them some pictures of what I was envisioning and they really did most of the work! Nate and I have very similar tastes so we were on the same page with most of the wedding details. Nate and I live in Houston so it was important to have someone help us who was based in Austin. Due to our work schedule, my mom made several trips to Austin to help with the planning and site visits. My mom and Heather were both amazing and this could not have happened without them.
There were so many parts of the day that meant so much to us. Just having all of our loved ones from all over together in one place. We really tried to enjoy every moment because we knew this would not happen again! It meant so much to us that all of our friends and loved ones were there to celebrate our special day.
