Ending off this beautiful spring week with this gorgeous engagement session from Brittanee Taylor Photography. The light is just so dreamy and romantic! And I just had to share their proposal story because the groom to be quoted Pride and Prejudice during the proposal. That is a keeper right there!
After church, he asked me if I would like to get tea with him at my favorite tea place. I, of course, said yes and we walked to the tea house. While we were there, CJ was a bit jittery and kept looking at his phone. I quickly finished my tea, looked up at him and said “Lets go! What’s next?” I couldn’t hide my excitement. He stalled a bit longer at the tea house then said he wanted to take me somewhere. We walked to his car, which happened to be parked in the parking lot where we met. As we walked, CJ told me all of the things he loved about me and how ever since our first date he knew he would marry me. Then, when we got to the very spot that we had met, he turned to me, got down on one knee, quoted our favorite book, Pride and Prejudice, and asked me to take his hand in marriage. I was so surprised. Even though I had a feeling he would propose, I didn’t know it would be then. I said, “yes, yes, yes!!” and hugged him and kissed him. I was so excited that I forgot to even take the ring! When we had both settled down a bit, he put the ring on my finger, then took me to my favorite rose garden where we walked around and took a few pictures. After the rose garden, CJ took me home to see my family. When we got there, there was a surprise golden birthday party waiting for me- but I was really the one who had a surprised for them! I heard the not-so-quiet guests waiting inside my house, so I ran through the door and shouted, “I’m ENGAGED!!” My guests had all thought that they had come to celebrate my birthday, when really my mom had planned for it to be a surprise engagement party!!
