You would never guess that this beautiful handmade wedding from Meg Ruth Photo is in Las Vegas. This stylish couple brought a lot of heart, love, and a touch of rustic to their spring wedding. I love how they really embraced their color palette and had blue details throughout the wedding, from the signature drink to the flip flops for dancing.
We wanted to go with a classic palette of navy, silver, and ivory. These colors really speak to who we are and allowed Atashia to really stand out, as she looked absolutely stunning. We have an eclectic style so we tried to represent that with wood accents, old picture frames with photos of our journey together, and Einstein string lights over the dance floor.
Atashia held both her grandmother’s handkerchief and Clayton’s mother’s handkerchief wrapped around the base of her bouquet. Fastening the two handkerchiefs together was a beautiful and cherished brooch pin that Atashia’s step mother lent her.
We chose St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church because it is a beautiful church and we regularly attend church there on Sundays. We chose the Revere Golf Club because we wanted to celebrate somewhere that didn’t appear to be in Las Vegas. It’s very green, as you’d imagine, and in somewhat of a raised valley that secludes you from the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip.
Some of the most incredible highlights were: watching Atashia come come through the doors of our church looking breathtaking; kneeling next to her at the altar of our church; saying ‘I do’ to one another; drinking a glass of champagne together in the limo; eating out first meal together as a married couple, which was Wendy’s haha (too much time between the ceremony and reception led to severe hunger pangs).
There were many handmade details in our wedding. Tami, Atashia’s step mother, put in a lot of work into making our wedding special. She gather hundreds of candles to utilize throughout the night. She created each table setting, which had a multitude of clear and frosty blue Mason jars, some full with bouquets of Baby’s Breath, floating candles, and decorative stone. The tables also had burlap runners, a variety of wood logs, and Baby’s breath strewn all over the table. We also made a photo booth utilizing some found and passed down Polaroid cameras, in which we had our guests take a photo of themselves and write a note on the back to serve as our guest book.
It was extremely important to us to make it feel like us. We’ve been together since we were 15 and 16 years old and have truly grown together. We wanted our wedding to represent us in all aspects. I really think our love shone brightly that night and that was super important to us.
