Sharing a sweet and southern neutral wedding from Robyn Van Dyke today. I absolutely love that the bride did a first look with her dad. Such a special moment to have captured!
One of the things that was important to us while we were planning was keeping the ceremony focused on The Lord. My husband Graham and I both have a strong foundation on The Lord and knew this marriage would not be possible without relying on him. We also invited many family members and friends that we wanted to hear the gospel and share the love and hope of Christ with them as well. We shared communion during the ceremony as a symbol of becoming one and Christ being the center and strength of our marriage. Another thing that was important to us was a big enough venue to invite all of our friends and family. Graham and I hold the importance of family and friends very high and knew that while planning our wedding, the people there with us were the most important part rather than the venue.
One of my favorite parts was my first look with my dad. I have always been a daddy’s girl and I knew the wedding day would be very emotional for us. I loved his reaction, getting some sweet time together before all of the craziness, and getting to release some of our emotions before walking down the aisle.
Another favorite part was when Graham and I saw each other for the first time when I walked down the aisle. We decided not to see eachother or talk to eachother until the ceremony that day and although it was nerve wrecking it was totally worth it! It is such a sweet moment to see your groom smiling with tears in his eyes as you walk down the aisle to become his for the rest of your lives. After the ceremony, both of our favorite parts were just getting to be with family and friends and dance the night away!
Our venue was The Little Herb House. It was such a simple and beautiful venue. The owner of the property, Lisa Treadaway, was beyond a joy to work with. She was so accommodating and friendly and I would do it all over again! We absolutely LOVED our caterers The Cook Shack. They were so great to work with and took care of everything including bartending, cake cutting, table setting and cleaning up as well as everything that came along with cooking and serving the meal. They even made me and Graham our own plates to make sure we ate. Obviously we LOVED our photographer as well! Robyn and Jordan are such a great team to work with. We bonded instantly and it felt like having a friend alongside me all day which made it not stressful or awkward at all! They did such a great job.
We also wanted to achieve a relaxing and welcoming vibe with the venue we chose and we think we accomplished that. The guests all seemed to have a great time.
