Handcrafted and intimate are the keywords in today’s pink and navy California wedding from Sun & Sparrow Photography. The location is gorgeous (that ceremony shot is just breath-taking) and I love all the personalized details.
We wanted to keep the theme of the venue (which is so naturally beautiful by itself) but bring in our personalities as well as make sure it looked like a wedding, not just another party. We tried to keep some elements rustic/vintage just like the ranch but yet modernize the wedding elements.
here is nothing better than seeing your bride/groom for the first time. I am so happy we ended up being traditional by not seeing each other until we walked down the aisle. The emotion during our ceremony was unlike anything we expected. It was so intimate and heartfelt. We couldn’t have asked for anything more! The handfasting cord I made with our wedding colors and tied in the lace to bring in the vintage element. I also put our initials on each end to signify us coming together as one.
I am a sucker for lighting. We ended up using over 100 candles from tea lights to lanterns as well as light the fireplace to make the areas feel warm and intimate. The intimate feeling was so important to us since it was such a small wedding. That’s also why we did so many handmade elements such as name cards, writing everyone cards as to why they meant so much to us and using things like the lighting and pillows on the benches to keep that intimacy. Detail was important and I wanted it handcrafted to look like “our wedding” not your typical store bought wedding.
