If you’re on the hunt for a unique location inspiration, I’m loving this cute train station wedding from Sara Bee. The station provided a fun backdrop to this relaxed rustic wedding. Filled to the brim with handmade details, this fete super sweet!
We wanted our wedding to have “Lauren and Benjamin” written all over it. We made almost everything ourselves to give it a very personal touch. It was important for us to have a wedding that felt like a big party. Nothing too formal or traditional. We are both actors, so we are used to being creative and doing things on a budget. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to do everything ourselves, from the invitations, to the bouquets, to the party favors. We wanted our hands in it all!
We tried to plan the day around the train schedule, but there is a freight train that goes by about every 45 minutes, but there was no way to actually track it. Due to some sort of miscommunication, the girls thought they were waiting for the train to pass before starting and the boys went out before the train and the music started. Well here we go! As soon as we were both there together and the music was done, the train came through. It was the exact wrong but exactly right moment. We all shared a laugh (even though we couldn’t hear a thing) and it gave us all a moment to breathe and enjoy the moment.
Our photographer Sara was fantastic. She captured every one of our details and captured our style perfectly. She was never in the way, in fact we rarely ever even saw her, but she got every single moment beautifully. We couldn’t have picked a better photographer.
Our beer selection was local beer from all of the places that we have lived for a while. Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Sol Fusion is the name of the band, and they are the BEST wedding band we have ever heard. Everyone was dancing and having a great time. They saved the best for last. They played a version of Shout that lasted about 10 minutes, the singer was in the crowd, everyone was elated. Towards the end they handed us a tambourine to join in with them and dance. All our friends and family couldn’t have been happier and we were in heaven celebrating some of our first hours as a married couple.
The wedding was absolutely perfect. We couldn’t have imagined it any better. It was magical. Everyone came together and helped us set up and bring our creative planning to life. We got married at the historic Salisbury Train Station in Salisbury, NC. It gave our wedding a unique and vintage touch that we loved!
