If you are a breakfast lover, a brunch wedding is a fab idea! I love today’s intimate brunch wedding from Ashley Tingley. Filled with handmade personal touches, it’s too sweet to miss!
My husband and I had so much fun planning our wedding! We envisioned an intimate event with personalized touches; we really wanted our wedding to feel like “us” and reflect out tastes and personalities. We kept the guest list small (around 75 people) which allowed us to manage our tight budget and keep things at a more personal level. Breakfast is our favorite meal of the day, so we decided to have a brunch wedding. We held it on Sunday morning and provided coffee and donuts (from our favorite community donut shop) to everyone before the 11:30 am ceremony time.
We kept our decor simple and let the beautiful outdoor venue speak for itself. We were lucky to snag this regional park venue for a fantastic price and fell in love with its hidden feeling, historic orange grove, and large trees.
One of our favorite parts of our wedding was how much our whole family got involved in carrying out the big day. My talented sister completed all the calligraphy and signage for the food, tables, and seating chart. My husband’s brother was our MC and operated a music playlist that my husband and I created. My dad assisted with all the set-up and tear down, and even hung the curtains for the ceremony and made the wooden directional sign for the parking lot. We made sure to include my husband’s Serbian heritage into the wedding by teaching everyone to dance the traditional “kolo” dance – every guest participated and it made for such a special moment!
I hand stamped brown paper coffee sleeves with our names, date, and the slogan “love is brewing” to accompany the coffee cups. Instead of a typical program, we decided to create a wedding “morning newspaper” complete with a crossword puzzle, restaurant review section, and recipes. In addition to our love of breakfast, we both are big coffee fanatics. We sent our guests home with personalized coffee favors and a iced orange cookie as a nod to the orange grove that surrounded the venue. Our food was definitely a hit with everyone; we served a great mix of brunch food which included chicken and waffles, an assortment of unique flavored syrups, scrambled eggs with toppings, fresh salads, in addition to a make your own bloody mary and mimosa bar.
When everything came together, it definitely took my breath away. My most memorable parts of the wedding were seeing my husband for the first time during our “first look” and dancing with my dad. Although, dropping cake on my husbands shoes during the cake cutting is pretty memorable in a funny way as well! Having the time to speak with all our friends and family over the course of the wedding was priceless and our small guest list ensured we were able to get one on one time with everyone. We loved our photographer, Ashley Tingley, who caught all our special moments on camera!
