We are all about sweet and southern today here at Glamour & Grace! I’ve fallen for this chic blush Texas wedding captured by Logan Howard Photography. The details are so simple and sweet and give this relaxed feel to the whole affair. The naked cake is absolute perfection!
When describing our wedding during the planning process, two phrases often came up: vintage charm meets rustic chic; and looking back, that’s exactly what we pulled off. Matt and I met in College Station six years ago ago and knew that we wanted to say “I do” close to the place that brought us together. After looking at several venues, we instantly fell in love with the atmosphere of Double Creek Crossing. It was intimate and offered the perfect backdrop for my vintage/rustic theme.
With a late March outdoor wedding in Texas, I knew I wanted everyone to be more on the casual side, comfortable and really able to fully enjoy the celebration. My bridesmaids (who all have fantastic taste) each chose their own dress in our colors – blush, peach and cream – and the groomsman purchased khaki pants and an ivory shirt and gold tie.
Matt and I chose to serve a dinner that was a little untraditional, but incredibly special to us. We served Yum Yum Chicken, green beans, garden salad and rolls. Yum Yum Chicken just so happens to be the first meal I ever cooked for Matt. To this day, it’s his favorite thing I make and we knew it was the perfect meal to serve on the most special day of our lives.
Keeping with the casual theme, I wanted the loose, wildflower look for our bouquets and tables. I couldn’t have been happier with our flowers, they were beautiful and really made our theme come to life. We decided against the traditional bride and groom cakes and incorporated all of our favorite things on one large dessert table. Family and friends pitched in to make our favorite desserts, even the naked cake … which was made by my new sister-in-law. It was incredibly special, and incredibly beautiful! For the kids, we had a trail mix bar that I think went off without a hitch. Looking at photos after the wedding, we even caught our three-year-old nephew (one of our precious ring bearers) sneaking trail mix before the ceremony. Needless to say, it was perfect for the kids!
Looking back, there isn’t a thing I would change about our special day. We had so much fun celebrating with our family and friends and most importantly, became husband and wife. It’s a day we’re sure to never forget.
