Today I’m sharing a lovely barn wedding from K and K Photography. I’m loving the lantern and garland centerpieces, it’s such a chic and romantic look. And how beautiful is the bride’s bouquet? All the colors and textures are amazing!
Our wedding was exactly how we pictured it. I knew everything would come together, and I kept it simple so I could enjoy the day instead of stress about the details. I was also very particular about what I was willing to spend money on.
I wanted to bring southern elegance to the stable in an organic way so I stayed away from specific themes. I had a simple ceremony under two large oaks in a field. Arriving in a horse drawn carriage with my father gave us a special father-daughter time before I walked down the isle. The reception was under a canopy of trees with sparkling white lights and dancing in the barn. There was a lot of white against the earthy backdrop to keep it clean and fresh. The sweetheart table was one of my favorite visuals from the day. It was set in front of a gazebo in white netting that had our wedding cake and cupcakes underneath a chandelier.
The most important task for me was finding the perfect photographer. A perfect photographer, as I learned, not only takes great pictures of your wedding but becomes a part of your wedding day. Jeff and Mark from K&K Photography made us feel at ease on the wedding day. I wanted a Victorian couch in the middle of a field for a completely random photo with the wedding party and they made it happen. Everything else from the day is a memory, but the pictures will last a lifetime.
The most important part in planning the look of our wedding is that it brought a feminine sophistication to a rustic setting that really embodied my husband and me. In planning for the big day I made a “Look Book” of everything that represented the feeling I wanted . From the colors and fabrics, I took from everything I saw and made sure to show all of the vendors what I was going for. I also have an amazing mother who understood my vision and worked with Catering by Robert to bring my ideas to life. There were personal touches as well. My family is from South Carolina so I had BBQ sliders at cocktail hour with a favorite family sauce shipped from SC.
It was truly the most beautiful day of my life and I wouldn’t change a single detail.
