If you are a book lover, then today’s wedding is for you! With a ring bearer ‘pillow’ made from a book to centerpieces made from vintage novels, the literary details are too cute. I also am in love with the pin wheel aisle for the ceremony!
When my husband and I started planning our wedding, our priority was to make it intimate but to also keep things simple. When brainstorming initial ideas for a venue space, my aunt Debbie suggested Trinity College because of its beautiful campus. Once that suggestion was made, Trinity became the obvious choice and I could not have been happier with the outcome. The campus was the perfect backdrop for an intimate outdoor ceremony.
Once we were set on Trinity, the rest of the planning was one big, ongoing, DIY project. Both Jeffrey and I wanted to make the day a true reflection of our personalities; so DIY was the only way to go. We spent hours researching tutorials on the Internet and many Friday nights crafting. The memories we made through our DIY adventures are just as important to me as the memories made on our wedding day.
Along with choosing to DIY all of the décor, it was also important to us to have friends and family play active roles in the day. We had a close friend Kate Howard-Bender sing and another friend Jen Moyer perform the ceremony. The involvement of our friends in the ceremony truly made it special.
Our effort most certainly paid off and we were thrilled with how it all came together. Everywhere I looked there were small details that reminded me of the days spent creating and those who helped in the process. It made the day that much more special knowing that those closest to us were a part of each detail. The succulent book planters blew me away when I finally got to see the finished centerpieces! It was by far my favorite detail with the paper pinwheels we made coming in a close second.
I could not have asked for a more perfect day. The sun was shining, we had the shade of Elm trees on the beautiful campus of Trinity College, and we were even lucky enough to have a light breeze that made each of the pinwheels spin as I made my walk down the aisle towards Jeffrey.
