Today I’ve got a beautiful purple and gray southern California wedding at a stunning venue. I seriously cannot get over how dreamy this wedding site is with it’s spanish architecture (with a name like Casa Romantica, how could you not be?)
The beautiful bride Michelle gives all the details:
We wanted our wedding to feel like a party in our own home… If our home happened to have sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. The Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens was the perfect venue for the special, personal, and romantic wedding we wanted. A keyhole entrance to a welcoming courtyard, a gorgeous patio overlooking the San Clemente pier… and thankfully, a beautiful indoor area for everything to move inside. For as every bride learns, you can’t control the weather. On our wedding day, we got a monsoon.
With Plan B in place, my matron of honor, bridesmaid and I toasted Sofia champagne in the bridal suite as we got ready. I loved my amethyst necklace, a birthday gift from Andy. My niece was a perfect flower girl, and our nephews made adorable “ring bears” in their matching tuxedos.
Andy is an art director so color choice was an important one. Lilac, green, and gray captured the first day of spring and my favorite purple hues. We tied in swallows as they made their annual return home to San Juan Capistrano the same weekend. Andy designed the placecards and menus, complimented with a sprig of lavender. Gray boxes held the beautiful flower arrangements, antiqued glass votives decorated the dark brown tables, and our escort cards were conversation cubes that guests took home with them.
For our guestbook, our family and friends each wrote us a postcard and put them in a mailbox. Upon our return from our Honeymoon, we had wonderful well wishes waiting for us at our home. Rain did not dampen this wedding in any way. It was a lovely, intimate, and, most importantly, warm evening that we loved sharing with the best family and friends a bride and groom could ask for.
