Lavender is the perfect springtime wedding flower and this DIY wedding from Cindy and Emily Photography filled to the brim with it! There are so many great handmade details, including the bride altering a dress from her grandmother to wear for her wedding dress!
Well purple is our favorite color, so I knew purple would be a main color. I was going for something rustic and vintage with aspects of nature at the same time. We chose Eureka Springs because it is the cutest town ever. My family lives all over the country, so no matter where we had the wedding they were going to have to travel.
My dress was actually a dress my grandmother had. It was one of her favorite cocktail dresses. It used to have huge 80’s ruffles on the sleeves. My grandmother was very special to me, and I am glad she got to know my husband before she passed away in 2013.
I had a lot of fun taking photos with our groups. To finally see everyone all dressed up in the outfits I chose was an awesome feeling. We also had a lot of laughter.
All of our ceremony decorations and reception decorations were all handmade. We started handmaking everything in October of 2017. The mother of the groom was a huge help in all of this, if it wasn’t for her, I would have never been able to pull it off myself. We even made the vases by supergluing different glass pieces together!
I decided on cupcakes for our cake. We had a chocolate and peanut butter groomsmen cake for just the Groom and I. Then we had strawberry, German chocolate, and vanilla coconut cupcakes for everyone else. All the cupcake toppers were handmade by me!
