Handmade Southern Wedding

There are too many amazing details to count in this super cute ‘wedding bells’ themed southern wedding from Stephanie A Smith Photography. I love the gold sequin hangars for the bridesmaids, the fun custom programs, and of course, the vintage bells for guests to ring for a kiss!

Some would say our wedding was 8 years in the making Zach and I had a pretty long dating history together. However this past September 14th at the Legare Warning House under the moss covered ancient avenue of oaks we said our vows and dodged rain drops as we had our first kiss.

As most brides I had been planning this day for a while…I had a powerpoint presentation saved with all my favorite wedding ideas way before pinterest was in existence. So when it came down to planning I was ready!!! First thing first I made a folder on our computer and named it wedding bells. Now I wasn’t really planning on having a theme for our wedding but something made me google the history of the wedding bell. Ringing of bells both small and large is viewed as a symbol of happiness and the celebration of the couple’s new life together.

Wedding planning and pinning can be excited and daunting all at the same time. But Zach and I really tried to keep in mind what a wedding symbolizes and the focus on the history and tradition of getting hitched. That’s why we choose to have lots of wedding bells at our wedding!

I loved the vintage look of the honeycomb bells and we had a great time collecting handbells and getting them as gifts during our engagement year! For our exit it was magical hearing all our guests ringing the bells as we made our way to our get-a-way car.
