This spring Florida wedding from Jennifer Martin is rustic charm central! Filled with DIY touches, it’s hard not to fall in love with this classic, chic, country wedding.
Our vision was a simple, elegant, rustic wedding. We both are from the same small town with strong country roots so an outdoor wedding was a no brainer. I shared the wedding planning with my mother and a close family friend. My husband helped with the ‘manly’ side of the decorations (like cutting wood & hanging the big items) and making final decisions, especially when I couldn’t.
When the week of the wedding finally arrived, so did the rain! It rained for three days straight. My Mom made the last minute decision to order a tent (which I did not want) but we couldn’t chance it. We had the private house on the property busting at the seams with wedding decor. Then, Friday afternoon brought the sunshine as well as our wedding party & family. Anyone that came by the property that afternoon stayed to help with anything we needed.
Wedding day arrived & we couldn’t be more excited! We still had a chance of rain but as I watched my family & friends, from the bedroom window, turn the property into our dream wedding was amazing! As the ceremony approached so did the rain. Our guest thankfully didn’t notice the light shower as our ceremony site was under a huge oak hammock. As my Dad & I stepped out of the house & proceeded down the aisle, I saw all of the hard work come together along with my soon to be husband waiting for me. The ceremony was followed by an amazing meal & a night full of dancing!
The best part was sharing our special day with all of our family & friends! A big thanks to my parents, Mrs. Pam, The Clarke’s & our wedding party for making our day unforgettable.
