In true New England fashion, Alex and Ben envisioned a waterfront celebration that captured the coastal essence of fall on the Cape. Captured by Halie Child, the pair were wed in a romantic ceremony overlooking the Nantucket Sound, with white flowers and wicker accents adding an elegant feel to the country club’s expansive lawn. Alex dazzled in a timeless gown with a bateau neckline and floral details to match the floral appliques on her veil. Ben sported a blue plaid suit with a white shirt, forgoing a tie for a more casual vibe. Nautical details were featured throughout their day, with seashells, lighthouses, and whales splashed across stationery and signage personalized by Alex’s friend. The reception was held in a sailcloth tent where wicker chandeliers and greenery hung overhead. Wooden guest tables were dressed with blue-gray linens, bud vases of white blooms, and rattan votive holders. Woven chargers, scalloped plates, blue floral print napkins, and custom menus graced each place setting. As day turned to night, guests filled the dance floor and enjoyed a lavish spread of desserts. In lieu of a wedding cake, guests were treated to an ice cream sundae bar to satisfy everyone’s sweetest tooth!

“I wore a Suzanne Neville wedding dress paired with a Toni Federici veil. The dress was beautiful and timeless, yet it felt casual and relaxed. The floral details on both the dress and veil reminded me of Cape flowers. I also wore my grandmother’s sapphire ring, and a small sapphire ring from her was tied to my bouquet—a tradition shared by all my cousins on their wedding days. Inside my dress, there was a special touch: a patch with our wedding logo stitched into it.”

“We got married in the same place where Alex’s parents tied the knot 32 years ago, a town where Alex spent his summers growing up. Since it was a Cape Cod wedding, we wanted the vibe to be coastal.”

“A friend of mine designed all our invitations and paper goods, which I absolutely loved. The personalized touches on everything—invitations, cocktail napkins, bar signs, menus, seating chart, and all the wedding day signage—made the event feel so personalized and unique.”

“Some of my favorite wedding day memories include being surrounded by all the people we love most in our favorite place, sitting at the table with our family, and dancing with everyone.”
